When there is a possibility to listen or to watch something of sport theme, some people do everything possible not to lose it. Today they just get one more chance to read about their favourite shoes’ brand – adidas.
Interestingly, the small taon of Herzogenaurach,that is near Hamburg, Germany, really contributed into the story of the training shoe. In 1948 the huge company adidas was launched. Actually, the name was created by Adolf Dassler, the cobbler, who combined his nickname ‘Adi’ with the first three letters of his surname Dassler. Remarkably, he died being in his 78 in 1978. Interestingly, he left more than 700 patents referred to sports shoes and some other athletic equipment. Actually, Adolf Dassler gain big respect among the Americans and became the first person to be the member of the American Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame. In 1948 the company changed a little bit the appearance of its shoes and added the three stripes to its trainers. As the result the new trademark that is so popular nowadays was introduced into the world market.
Adi Colour was known as the interactive shoe. It had the following appearance: plain white with its three stripes. Interestingly, these shoes were made in so called hi and lo version. Besides, the company offered a set of pens, so that the customers had the possibility to colour the shoes as they wanted.
In 1970 and 1980 the Dublin so called “city shoes” were developed. They become so popular among the football fans that each championship brought the company huge money. Its design resembles the one of the “European Capital City”.
In 1970 they developed the Forest Hills that were very consumed and adored by the football fans in the United Kingdom. For sure, people say that the original shoe had the white sole. All 500 pair of the yellow soled shoes were transported into the UK and bought by the fans in Liverpool.
Additionally, the designers worked as hard as possible in order to satisfy the needs, likes and dislikes of all people. That’s why they tried to obey the fashion and to adopt their product according to its trends. It was not a surprise that in 1972 they introduced another version of running shoes titled SL72 made especially for the Olympic Games.
Till 1968 they offered the customer so called Gazelle with a flat sole and velour leather upper. For this version people even ordered their colours, where the pink one was one of the rare, as it was adored by the majority.
To sum up, although time passed and we do not have those talented and experienced designers of adidas, who tried to attract people’s attention and to deserve their preferences, it still is the most powerful sports shoes company that provide our market place with the shoes and equipment of great quality.
